Hassop Station Branding shoot.

A Day in the Life of a Derbyshire based Photographer.

Hassop station sign.

As a photographer, there is nothing better than a shoot day. Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph Hassop Station for their new website, and Iโ€™m excited to share my experience with you.

Arriving at Hassop

I arrived at Hassop Station early in the morning, for those that donโ€™t know Hassop station, it is an old railway station on the no longer operational Monsal line. The disused train line is now the Monsal trail, for walkers and cyclists to enjoy the flat path. The station has been repurposed as a cafe, book shop and bike hire/shop, serving the users of the trail.

The first shots I took were of the exterior. The stone building, with its ivy-covered walls and charming details, set the tone for the day. I focused on capturing wide shots to showcase the stationโ€™s structure and some close-ups to highlight the intricate details that make Hassop Station so unique.

The New E-MTB bikes and Booking Scheme

One of the highlights of my day was photographing the new electric mountain bikes (E-MTB) that Hassop Station has recently introduced for rentaI.

Firstly shooting the bikes in the fully kitted out bike shop. showing the shops top of the range maintenance and cleaning equipment. This ensures that when customers hire a bike they are maintained to the highest standard and are ready to hit the demanding surrounding trails.

I then captured the e-MTBs in action, focusing on their sleek design and robust build. It was important to convey not only the technical aspects of these bikes but also the excitement and freedom they offer. I photographed a couple of riders setting off on their journey, as well as some dynamic shots of them tackling the trails with ease, thanks to the electric assist.

. This also tied in nicely with their new online booking system. Making it quicker and easier for people who want to hire a bike. This can be done ahead of time making sure that the bikes are available and allowing you to get out on the trails and make the most of the day.

Engaging with staff and public

Throughout the day, I had the pleasure of speaking with visitors and staff at Hassop Station. It was clear that Hassop Station is more than just a place; itโ€™s a hub where people come to relax, explore, and enjoy the beautiful Peak District.

Air B and B

The final few photos that I took were of the exterior of their cosy cottage that is available to rent. The property looks amazing and is in an excellent location for both the station, trail and surrounding Peak District. We couldnโ€™t go inside as there were guests staying. From the outside it looks like a great place to cosy up after spending the day out in the fresh country air.

Overview

I had an excellent day at Hassop Station,The staff are super helpful and friendly, offering visitors a fresh way to experience the beauty of the Peak District while maintaining the stationโ€™s traditional charm.

I hope the photographs Iโ€™ve taken will do justice to Hassop Station and help attract more visitors to this wonderful location. Whether youโ€™re a local resident or a traveler seeking a picturesque adventure, Hassop Station has something special to offer.
