Red Bull Featured
A Spectators perspective.
After the success of the Red Bull Featured test event in 2022, I knew that the main event would not be one to miss!
The biggest BMX transition riders in the world descended into Manchester, UK for the most progressive BMX event in recent years. Moving away from the now very structured events of the UCI, Red Bull Featured hoped to push the boundaries of what is possible on a BMX bike. Instead of doing 1 minute runs on a whole course, this event ran on four individual obstacles with no deduction in points for falling off.
To put it simply, the riders have to land the best trick that they can do on the given obstacle in the allocated time.
The first of the four features was high air, followed by the sub box then quarter finishing with the box jump.
The event was a roaring success with 11 worlds first tricks being landed in the night.
I only had access as a spectator, so all of the shots that you can see below are from places that anybody could view from.
